FORS - coming soon!

FORS (fibre optic reflectance spectroscopy) is a non-invasive analytical technique used to help identify the materials present in works of art and historic objects, such as pigments, dyes, and colourants. It measures how a surface reflects light across different wavelengths, allowing information to be gathered quickly and safely without taking samples. This helps heritage professionals better understand how an object was made, support conservation decisions, and build knowledge while minimising risk to the collection.
I am in the process of setting up FORS equipment - watch this space!
