Environmental Monitoring

Environmental monitoring helps heritage organisations understand and manage the conditions that affect the long-term preservation of collections. This includes monitoring light and UV exposure, temperature, relative humidity, pests, pollutants, and airborne particulates, all of which can contribute to damage or deterioration over time. By tracking these risks, collections teams can make informed decisions about display, storage, housekeeping, and building management, helping to create safer and more stable environments for historic objects and interiors.
I offer all services for monitoring the environment using my own equipment. I can also help you upgrade and purchase your own as I have devised and implemented numerous monitoring systems for diverse collections in organisations with disparate resources.
